First Lieutenant Ohad Roisblatt was born in Haifa on June 18, 1992.
He graduated high school in 2010, specializing in computer engineering and physics.
In November 2010 Ohad joined the IDF’s Golani Infantry Brigade.
After two years of service as a soldier and commander in the Golani Brigade, Ohad continued his military service as a career officer, commanding a platoon of 47 young combatants who had recently been drafted.
On July 8, 2014, after continuous shelling of Israeli settlements, the IDF began ‘Operation Protective Edge’.
On July 20, in a battle at the neighborhood of Sejaiya in Gaza, an anti-tank missile tore through the hull of Ohad’s stalled armored personnel carrier. Seven of Ohad’s comrades were killed, and Ohad was severely wounded and evacuated to Beilinson Hospital.
Ohad continued his rehabilitation process at Haifa’s Beit Halochem. He still needs to undergo surgery to one of his knees and has been grappling bravely with PTSD.
In the beginning of August 2015 he went back to serve in the IDF.
In August 2016 he was released from the IDF
Since 2017 Ohad has been studying Law at Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
