The Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization updated injured and general activity list as of November 30, 2023:
- 6,213 members of Israel’s security forces have been wounded in the fighting; this includes, amongst others, IDF soldiers, reservists, police officers, and rapid-response squad members (kitot konenut).
- So far, 1,850 from amongst the wounded veterans in the current war have been officially recognized as Zahal disabled veterans by the Ministry of Defense.
- Three call centers were operated by the ZDVO:
- A 24/7 emergency call center which made and received over 3,000 calls;
- A “Veterans For Veterans” call center which has made calls to every single member of the ZDVO several times during the war, with over 49,000 calls made so far.
- A “New Disabled Veterans” support call center which reached out to over 1,000 new recognized disabled veterans to inform and connect with them.
- The “ZDVO Patrol” paid over 1,000 visits to new and existing members across Israel – arriving at hospitals, shelters, and homes to support them during these difficult times.
- Over 100 wounded veterans have already arrived at the various BH centers to register as members and familiarize themselves with the organization and its activities.
- As a result of the war, the ZDVO’s 2024 budget will increase by 23% from $54.3 m USD to $66.7 m USD.
- As a result of the war, the ZDVF is now required to increase its fundraising by 40%, in comparison to 2023 ($15 million USD) with a new goal of $21 million USD in 2024.
